BASF initiated the exploration of rambutan tree’s various cosmetic properties, with the ambition to ensure sustainable use of the resource and generate a positive impact on the supply chain development. Based on the rambutan resource (Nephelium lappaceum), BASF developed three new bioactive. Nephoria is an extract of the evergreen rambutan leaves. Through its action on several major biological targets involved in collagen synthesis and elastic fiber assembly, Nephoria stimulates both collagen and elastic fibers formation, increasing skin elasticity and reducing wrinkles appearance to help the skin look visibly younger.
