BASF’s technical symposium “Inspired by Life” brought over 75 attendees to the picturesque Langham Hotel in Pasadena this week. The symposium was five stars all around, from the location itself, to the quality of presentations and BASF team members who travelled to be a part of the event. While BASF does not set cosmetic and personal care trends, they certainly follow them closely and respond with solutions in the form of new products, new formulations and new ideas.
New product highlights included active ingredients that target today’s biggest challenges – e.g. sun exposure and pollution, a hair care conditioning agent that allows those trying to formulate “silicone free” do more with less cost and two bright new hues out of the pigment laboratories.
Presentations covered sustainability as it relates to the cosmetic and personal care industry, an in-depth look into BASF’s new Experiential Skin Care Kit- formulations that achieve the unique, modern textures that today’s consumers demand. Further, BASF took a close look at the Korean skin care market and the interesting trends and novel formulations coming out of that part of the world.
